How To Become A Member

Thank you for your interest in Central Virginia Technical Large Animal Rescue. Our mission is to perform technical rescue of large animals using highly trained personnel and specialized equipment. We are proud to say we are a multi-jurisdictional collaboration utilizing the latest in large animal rescue skills and equipment.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this exciting team, we ask that you fill out the application below, return it to P.O. Box 986 Powhatan, VA 23139, and one of our team members will be in touch with you. We have listed below the training that will be required for participation.

Membership Requirements:

  1. Go to https://training.fema.gov, obtain a FEMA Student ID, and take the following courses online and provide certificates to our Training Officers:
    • ICS 100
    • ICS 200
    • ICS 700
    • ICS 800
  2. Register and take a TLAR training class offered at various times throughout the year.
  3. Participate in training opportunities offered throughout the year by Central Virginia Technical Large Animal Rescue.
  4. Attend monthly/quarterly meetings.
